Flannery O’Connor wrote a short story that first takes place in a doctor’s waiting room called Revelation. Mrs. Turpin, the protagonist in the short story, is accompanying her husband, Claud, who has an ulcer on his leg. No one stands or makes space for her to sit down, so she had to stand till there was a seat for her to sit in. Meanwhile Mr. and Mrs. Turpin. waited for their turn in the doctor’s office, they had multiple conversations. While Mrs. Turpin talks and observes people from the waiting room, we realize couple of problems that Mrs. Turpin has in her personality.
