The next chapter was Carrie McCandless viewpoint on traveling to see where her older brother Christopher McCandless died. When Carrie was in the helicopter flying to the ominous bus, she could not believe that Chris had backpacked through such terrain and lived off the land for one hundred days. However, she always knew that if Chris put his mind to something, he would always achieve it. Finally, she saw the rundown school bus where her brother had died. She tried to be strong but failed, and wept.
In order to fully understand the story it must be evaluated to show what lesson is to be learned from the reading. The story has an epiphany implemented into the writing which gives a new realization in the importance of this part. A major evaluation to this short story is to fully understand the main characters in it. One significant character in this story is Louise.
In the short story “Seven Floors” by Dino Buzzati, the author skillfully creates suspense throughout the span of the story. The story follows the protagonist Giovanni Corte as he arrives at a mysterious hospital where he will be treated for a mild form of a disease. He is put on the seventh floor of the hospital and learns that the doctors choose which floor to put patients on by the severity of their disease. The patients on the first floor are lost causes and the patients on the seventh floor are the most mild cases. The short story follows Giovanni Corte as the doctors send him down floor by floor until he finds himself on the first floor.
Human nature dictates that every action, no matter how selfless it appears, is inspired by a selfish reason. Flannery O'Connor shows this taken into consideration in her short story, “The Life You Save May Be Your Own”. The protagonist, Mr. Shiftlet, wanders onto the farm of old and young Lucynell. Mr. Shiftlet marries her daughter young Lucynell and does a handful of work for her including fixing her car, which he sees as a way of achieving freedom. With her use of symbolism and characterization O'Connor reveals that people play games of deceit to win their own selfish ends (Walters 82).

The south can pride itself on the Bible belt state with a more conservative side twist. Using the biographical strategy to analyze how Flannery O’Connor’s religious upbringings in the south influenced her writings with “Revelation” by influencing the character Mrs. Turpin to be a predigest religious extremist.
Flannery O’Connor details a woman living in the South in the short story, “Revelation”. The main character, Mrs. Turpin, holds anyone that is not on in her social level with very little regarding i.e. black or poor people. Once Mrs. Turpin met her match in a doctor’s office waiting room, she herself had a moment of self-reflection. O’Connor told the story of her stereotypical character using notable literary devices to enhance and emphasize the tale. The most notable is her use of ethical, emotional, and logical appeals to ensure the reader’s experience.

Most significantly, the uses of symbolism such as sky, name, and Christianity in Flannery O'connor's stories give more depth and meaning to those stories, as it links the themes and develops the plot of the stories. The sunset and the sky have important symbolisms in Flannery O'connor's stories; mostly they not only indicate the emotional stages of the characters, but also signify the start of character's epiphany.
Flannery O’Connor’s short story, “Revelation,” explores the harsh epiphany of a southern woman named Ruby Turpin. It seems appropriate that O’Connor created a story that was centered around a life-changing realization given the fact that O’Connor’s life stopped abruptly due to lupus shortly before she published “Revelation.” Nevertheless, her unfortunate condition did not stop O’Connor’s ability to employ rhetorics in the story which significantly supports the theme of judgement, religion, and racism. O’Connor’s exceptional capability to appeal to audience makes “Revelation” a compelling yet realistic story to read.
Two stories “A Good Man is Hard to Find” and “Revelation” by Flannery O' Conner both share a similar theme. The theme most common throughout both stories is religion. The author uses racism and religion in most of her stories and characters all seem to have similar personality traits. A few comparisons between “Revelation” and “A Good Man is Hard to Find” is that both these stories start off quick and to the point. These two stories contain a strong sense of superiority of their characters.
During the early 1960’s, racial segregation and integration created violent opinions from all United States citizens, particularly in the South. Flannery O’Connor’s short story, Everything that Rises Must Converge, takes a look into what life was like during this time and exposes the challenges both races faced during integration. Several members of our class suggested that Julian was evil and out to get his mother. I agree up to a point, but I think that he truly cared for his mother’s safety and well-being.
When reading a few of Flannery O’Connor’s stories, one cannot help but make a connection with her intensive stories and those of a television show. Both take mostly everyday people and exaggerate them into an absurd nature. Her stories and television shows use shock factors to draw in readers and viewers, respectively. While television shows tend to vary in themes and messages, Flannery O’Connor’s short stories tend to be focused on a few limited messages and themes. Television shows are mostly mindless channels of entertainment, Flannery O’Connor uses her characters not only to entertain, but to also cause readers to reflect inward and think.
Short Story "Revelation" by Flannery O 'Connor 1. In my opinion, my attitude toward Mrs. Turpin change during the story. This is because at the beginning of the story, I thinks Mrs. Turpin believes that she is the best out of all of the people in the waiting room by judging them based on their appearances. However, the present of Mary Grace in the room actually like a test to see if Mrs. Turpin will learn about her mistake to think she is the best.

Sign-ins are done on individual slips of paper, and left on the counter, then patients sit and wait until called. In the waiting room, the doctor tried to mitigate aggravation for those waiting by providing a television, a variety of recent magazines, and various medical brochures.
In 1972, Magnavox made the first video game console that could be played at home. This made video games much easier to access and allowed people to play for longer periods of time. Since then, consoles have become much more sophisticated and elaborate, with greater graphics and a greater selection for the games a person can play.
