General and Special Revelation

Page 1 Throughout biblical history, man has based his or her decision and move on Gods revelation, whether visual, audible, or by His work. “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it” (Matthew 16:18 NIV). Jesus stated that the revelation of who He is, is the rock to which He will build His church. Revelation is depicted in two areas that we will talk about, “General” revelation and “Special” revelation.
Different scholars have communicated the differences and how it impacts believers traditionally, non-traditionally, and other religions. Throughout the history of the church, the Old Testament and the New Testament text refers to the subject of general revelation. Paul speaks in Romans 10:18, which is quoted from Psalms 19:4. Scholars use these verses as the center of their debates on general revelation. To argue the position, Sanders cites Psalm 19 passages and how Paul uses them in his book No Other Name. Sanders does not go into the three verses on Psalms, starting at verse seven, which goes into the subject of special revelation.
