Facts
Robert Steinberg was an aspiring medical student. He filed a suit against Chicago Medical School due to the accusation that the medical school failed to review his application based on the academic bulletin. Steinberg paid the admission fee of fifteen dollars but felt that the defendant used nonacademic criteria to make the admission decision (Justia US Law, 2018). Robert Steinberg was under the impression that the decision was based on the money his family was able to pay the school.

Decision
The trial court dismissed the complaint for failure to state a true course of action.

The contract that Chicago Medical School had made with Robert Steinberg stated that if he chose to pay the application fee the school would consider him. The school fulfilled this by judging his application after receiving the payment. The school promised to judge the application based off specific criteria.
Managerial Implications
Implications suggest that the case was legal. Robert Steinberg applied for Chicago Medical School and paid the application fee. The medical school simply did not accept his application, which the school decides based off of an academic bulletin. Both sides of the party knew the rules and had accepted them.

Paul Buras was enrolled at Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia for a twenty-seven month course that allowed students to prepare and study for their boards (McCoy, 2005).
