Hydropower Is Needed In The U.S Hydropower is less used in the U.S. and should be used more frequently to control climate change that other energy producing production or structures that involved fossil fuel, burning oil, and other material that could change our earth’s temperature. The U.S government should care more about hydropower since President Obama said he is open to new ideas and the article “Stop Wasting America's Hydropower Potential” by Murkowski, Lisa, and Jay Faison quoted, “ President Obama has described climate change as one of the biggest challenges facing our country and has said he is open to new ideas to address it. He can start by supporting legislation to increase the nation's hydropower capacity, one of our vital …show more content…

The environment is one of the key points of our energy productions; without it, the U.S and other countries won’t get their resources they need to survive. But there are some people who don’t want hydropower to block waterways and want the dams that produces energy to be torn down. In “Stop Wasting America’s Hydropower potential” it talks about the environmental issue it has from a certain group who wants dams to be torn down. “Compounding the roadblocks are environmental groups that claim to adhere to sound science but hold remarkably outdated views of hydropower and its benefits. Rather than acknowledge technological advances and the environmental safeguards in our laws, these groups have filed lawsuits to dismantle dams or stop their construction” (Murkowski 8). The environmental groups who filed lawsuits to stop and dismantle dams are right about keeping any further destruction of the environment but the key point is to use hydropower where its not doing anything to harm the environment or the animal in and outside of the rivers.Still keeping the environment clean from destruction by buildings and other facility is the one priority but hydropower is the only renewable energy that doesn’t need wind to make energy or sun. So the U.S should just be careful where the hydropower dams are being …show more content…

The article “Stop Wasting America's Hydro Potential” shows ways the U.S could implement hydropower without building new dams, for example; “ Upgrading and modernizing the turbines at existing hydropower dams could yield a similar amount of additional electricity-generating capacity” (Stop Wasting 5). Even Trump said he wish we have hydropower from an article called, “Trump: Hydropower "tremendous... fantastic" and Trump said, "I wish we'd do some of that," Trump said. "Hydropower is fantastic, and it's a great asset that you have." (Michael 4) Even Trump wants hydropower to be in the U.S and maybe the U.S government like the Legislative Branch should come up with a law to help the production of hydropower or to replace existing dams turbines. Another way is to implement hydropower to be useful to the United States is to have a generator that hold the energy being produced from the turbines to the generators to dispurst to homes, towns and cities in America. That’s how the U.S could implement hydropower and the amount of energy it produce to be used in
