To kill a mockingbird, is a book that every year some student will have to read. Everyone always asks why, well that is because of what the words tech you lessons. The first time you see the title, you wonder why it is called to kill a mockingbird. Dose someone kill a mockingbird? No, it is a saying for bad luck. Atticus Finch once told his daughter, Jean Louise ‘Scout’ Finch, that it was a sin to kill a mocking bird. That is where the title came from. In my opinion I think that when he says that, he doesn’t only mean a mockingbird, he means something that doesn’t harm you, shouldn’t be harmed. Their lives were difficult; Scout’s mother had died from a heart attack when she was two. Atticus had to raise Scout and Jem, his son, with a little help from the neighbor. They lived in a bad time in Alabama during the depression, which made things worse for them especially with Atticus. Atticus was a full-time lawyer, and he takes on this one case that could make or break his career. He was drunk and angry; he came after Scout, cutting a wire on her potato costume. They then realized that he was trying to kill them. He had been blaming Atticus for him losing his job, so he decided to take something away from him. A clear face peered behind Bob, Boo. Pulling Bob away from them, Bob slipped out of Boo’s arms and feel onto his knife. Scout, Jem, and Boo went home, and Boo wasn’t seen again. That night, Heck Tate, Atticus’s friend, and Atticus argued about who killed Bob. Tate wants to call Bob’s death an accident, but Atticus thinks that Jem had done it.
