A Mockingbird is an elongated tail like songbird. Instead of having a unique call of their own they mimic other birds or sounds. What is the true meaning of a mockingbird? In chapter 15, Heck Tate’s mob wanted to talk to Atticus that Tom Robinson have been moved to Maycomb Jail, and that there might be trouble concerning Atticus and Tom Robinson. It stated on page 165, “Mr. Tate was saying, “I don’t look for any trouble, but I can’t guarantee there won’t be any . . .” This show that as the trial are coming nearer, the people are getting more impatient, and this would cause them to act violence not only to the Negroes, but also to their fellow kind. This also show that prejudice can change a person point of view, and make them think only about their superiority over Negroes even though some of them are no better than the Negroes themselves, like the Ewell and the Cunningham.

When Atticus says that the Klan is gone, he is incorrect because although there may not be any official “Ku Klux Klan,” there will always be people whose ideas about races differ from the ones around them, and sooner or later, they will start to band together and form something similar to the Ku Klux Klan. Throughout Harper Lee’s novel To Kill a Mockingbird, Scout Finch intellectually develops from youth into maturity after a specific pivotal moment. Scout is a young tomboy from Maycomb, Alabama living during the Great Depression. Scout, having always punched and reacted violently to those who she does not agree with, develops into a mature lady and learns to thinks before she acts after seeing her Aunt Alexandra’s reaction to the death of Tom Robinson. The pivotal moment in which Scout Finch intellectually matures into a woman comes after seeing her aunt’s reaction to the death of Tom Robinson during a missionary circle meeting between the ladies of Maycomb.
At the beginning of Chapter 22, Jem comes home saddened by the result of the case. Jem kept on repeating “It ain’t right” (284). In the next morning, Atticus attempts to comfort Jem about the case by mentioning that an appeal is possible. As Atticus comes into the kitchen, he is astonished to see a grand breakfast including meats and vegetables, which are provided by people who are grateful for his help during the case. To Kill A Mockingbird Literary Analysis Throughout To Kill A MockingBird, by Harper Lee there are many acts of courage. This is shown in Atticus Finch, Jem Finch, and Boo Radley. Atticus shows the most courage in the book but all three of these characters show true courage in some way, shape, or form. Boo Radley showed a lot of courage, but he was not in the storyline as much as Atticus. Throughout To Kill A Mockingbird, courage is defined as standing up for people and doing what’s right.
In the passage Jem and Scout walk home during the dark hours,giving Bob Ewell an opportunity to stage an attack. As Bob Ewell attacks them Boo Radley rushes in to rescue Jem and Scout. I am reading To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. The previous chapters talk about Scout participating in a play and was suppose to dress like a piece of ham. When the play was over Jem and Scout decided to walk home. As they walked home they heard a strange noise that was coming towards them . It turns out that it was Bob Ewell who was going to kill Atticus’ children, as a revenge for Atticus defending Tom Robinson during court.
