The book The Trident Deception by Rick Campbell is about an Ohio class ballistic missile submarine also known as Tridents. They're called because of the twenty-four Trident2’s which are multiple individual reentry vehicle intercontinental ballistic missile also known as a MIRV ICBM. Each of the Trident2's can hold up to eight individual thermonuclear Warheads. In total they hold 192 thermonuclear warheads that is enough to turn a country into a hot steaming crater and then bring the world into a nuclear winter. The Kentucky makes it through the blockade and starts launching. Kentucky only launches four before it engages with the HMAS Collins. The Kentucky fight the Collins while the North Carolina is pursuing the Kentucky. There was a program on the computer so that the SM-3s and THAAD’s didn't hit in the missile. They disable the program so they can now hit the missiles, three SM-3 where aimd for the first 3 missiles. While four THAAD missiles were aimed at the fourth ICBM. The three SM-3s hit the missiles, but missile four nicknamed Redemption when a technician and engraved Redemption into its nose cone deploys all eight of the warheads a minute later the THAAD hits the missile.
