In “The War Photo No One Would Publish”, the author Torie Rose DeGhett depicts the meaning behind censorship along with the technicalities that it has on public views. DeGhett proposes that pictures should always be published so the viewers can get a comprehensive detailed effect of what is happening around the world they inhabit. DeGhett also proposes the idea that “it’s hard to calculate the consequences of a photographs absence” (DeGhett 74). This statement leads to the idea of censorship causing the argument of whether certain media outlooks should be censored to the public or not. Censorship, in my opinion, is when the media suppresses inappropriate images or phrase to better the people and not disturb them with what they were about to see. When it comes to online imaging and online documents I believe everything should be uncensored. The items should be uncensored due to the fact that it is our decision to search up that material and it is our decision to decide whether or not we should view it. When it comes to Jareckes image of the man smothered in flames ,“turning him to dusty ash, and blackened bone” I believe that this image is unjustified (DeGhett Page 74). People have a right to see the truth behind what's happening in the war and how we could possibly change a scenario. So, in this specific scenario, I believe that we should have the right to view the picture and view the undeniable truth behind the war scene. There is a fine line between things that the public should have under consideration when it comes to what should be censored and what has the right to uncensored things . In my opinion, the only limitation I think should be under consideration is the censorship of public nudity. One should not be able to breastfeed in public, have intercourse with another, running around naked, or “freeing the nipple”. These situations can occur without someone knowing so it is not one’s fault to block that image as they casually pass the person down the street. In these instances, others noncensorship of their public nudity would “‘...not just to offend the viewer, but...implicate him or her as well”’(DeGhett 82). This would ultimately generate a situation where censorship does have its
