Truth about War Photography
War Photography has been around for year and years and there 's always been questions about their representation of the truth. There has always been a partiality of representation but some wants to know does photography show the wars up close and personal or they might say what’s the purpose of war photography. Some people believe that the purpose of war photography is that it has shifted throughout the years. During the earlier years of war photography the photos were purely used to inform the public and for the public to see what happen during that particular war at that time. In some World Wars they threaten national survivals and therefore reports and photographs are released and published were they intended to create a sense of morale or to just keep the war effort going. For example, “One answer lies in the contemporary acclaim for photography as a truth-telling art”(Marwil,Jonathan). They say that because some photos of the war tells the truth as to what happen and some photos don’t and with photography you will always know the truth. Some reports and photos that are published from these photojournalists need to carry a certain amount of truth to inform the public in different places so people will know the truth instead of the lies. Some argue that reality is a like a videogame, but in this case it is not and people need to know about the war. War Photography is a unique powerful form of photography and very effective to get people to respond. With war photography a photo isn’t just a image it is a trace of reality, an experience that was captured ,or even a moment. War photography is like an art that gives importance to real life events and also makes them worth remembering after you take them. When you take a photo it 's about telling the reality of that photo, about showing what others may not see, to make them aware of it though the images come from the media. However, when the photo serves as informing the world we find ourselves facing the world to see if it 's true or if it 's not true. If people could be there to see it for themselves, the fear and grief for just one time in their life, they would understand that nothing is worth letting things get to the point to where people get hurt but everyone can’t be there, so that 's why photographers go there to show them, to reach out, or to grab them and make them realize what 's happening to the world or to even pay attention to what is going on, to create a powerful picture to overcome the effects of the mass media and to shake people out of their indifferences that they have against each other.
