In recent news, 3 New York prisoner debaters defeated 3 Harvard University debate team members. The 3 prisoners were given a chance to participate in this debate through the Bard Prison Initiative. A lot of the world was shocked that Ivy League students lost a debate to prisoners. However, the results show that being a prisoner does not make ones less intelligent. It makes me wonder if they were provided with different life circumstance what would they been able to achieve. Interacting with team and groups is very important in this situation.
