I envy staff members and people who become moderator. I don't have a lot of experience but I know what I must do as a staff. I really wanna try and make a staff series on my channel.
This letter is written in support of Quineshia Peterson, an applicant of the American University Strategic Communication Graduate Program. As the Director of Admissions at Valdosta State University, I have had the honor of working with and mentoring Quineshia during the matriculation of her bachelor’s degree, beginning in 2011. As a freshman at Valdosta State it became apparent that Quineshia was a natural born leader with praiseworthy ambition. She served on the executive board of her student Hall Council, and was an active member of Residence Hall Association.
Throughout the last two years, working with both Andrew Michie and Theodore Beddoe, provided opportunities to see how two grown men from drastically different walks of life share many similar qualities. Andrew, a welder from Pittsburgh, came to South Florida when he was twenty-nine, starting a new journey and Teddy, a Florida native and five-star chef, at fifty-two gave up everything he had for one last opportunity at starting a new life. While from different walks of life, Andrew and Teddy share more values than either can see; through open-mindedness, courage, and humbleness they are equally gifted with the ability to help others.
This allows the viewers to trust the wording and information on the wall. Word choice and accreditations are good, but the elephant remains. The visual shows students that they can be prosperous chefs like the ones teaching them. However, for young people of color chefs, few role models exist on campus who look like them. Johnson & Wales prides itself in building character in students and building community, but these values come up short when examining faculty/staff on campus.
However, if she had been a younger professor and had been able to immerse herself in the freshman college experience, her research and her evidence would have turned out to be more persuasive and supportive. In terms of her credence, Nathan is a reliable source as a scholar, a writer, a co-founder, and an award winner but as a 21st century college student that is where it seems her credibility wavers a bit because she has not experienced the modern freshman year at the age of a typical college student. In terms of her claims and reasoning, her appeals seem to hold strong as she draws information from outside sources such as Levine and Cureton (60), and the Carnegie Foundation and the Advancement of Teaching (44) and is able to build a strong backbone for her argument. Relating to Nathan’s emotional appeals, her strategy of talking directly to the international students and sharing their feelings about diversity and community in her research was extremely effective because it gave Nathan’s audience some insight and direct evidence of her claims and the truth behind them. Overall, Nathan executed chapter three, “Community and Diversity” of My Freshman Year very well using her credence, her claims and supporting ideas, and her emotional appeals to the audience to her greatest advantage and using it to create a very persuasive
No matter how successful I was raising money, or how many donations came in, the feeling of despair due to stories of trauma was constantly showing up within. My office in the administrative building at ACT in Fort Myers sat parallel to our front door, where victims would come in for counseling daily. There was a terrifying day when a man followed his spouse to a counseling appointment and he greeted her in the parking lot, threatening to cause harm. That day I was afraid would be my last, and while I LOVED my job at ACT, it took such an emotional toll on me, that I had to leave for my own well-being. Kenny offered me a position as Erickson’s Drying Systems Marketing Director, but I truly feel like he’s done more for me and my family’s life by allowing me to transition to work for him.
In the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, it is described as “the act of practice
Initial Response 1.Describe how highly functioning interdisciplinary teams enhance the quality and safety of care provided in today’s complex healthcare organizations. Provide an example of a team approach used for quality and safety within your organization and discuss why you believe the team was or was not successful in achieving its goals. Use theoretical perspectives about team formation, membership, and tools to substantiate your response. Shoemaker, et al. (2016) wrote that interprofessional team-based medicine is viewed as a significant feature of delivery systems restructured to deliver more effective and higher quality care.
I. Introduction Parenthood, a drama television series, attends to the adversity of an extended and imperfect family. The Bravermans are a blended California family who face a series of both fortunate and unfortunate events but together find a way to get by (Katims, 2010). Television consumers have been introduced to many fictional families overtime and continue to fall in love with family related television shows. Historically, the media has transformed and continues to adapt to the changes in present day family types. “Writers often take seeds from real life experiences and plant then in their scripts,” consumers both consciously or subconsciously attend to cues on television and want to apply what they see to their lives.
Television situational comedies have the ability to represent different values or concerns of their audience, these values often change every decade or so to reflect and highlight the changes that the audience is experiencing within society, at the time of production. Between the years of 1950 and 2010, the representation of gender roles and family structure has been addressed and featured in various sitcoms, such as “Father Knows Best” and “Modern Family”, through the use of narrative conventions, symbolic, audio and technical codes. These representations have transformed over time to reflect the changes in social, political, and historical contexts. The 1950’s sitcom “Father Knows Best” traditionally represents the values of gender roles and family structure in a 1950’society, with the father, held high as the breadwinner of the family and the mother as the sole homemaker.
Brooks took this stance against Sheryl Sandberg’s theory because she tried to take her advice and “lean in.” Brooks states how when she chose to “lean in” she became miserable, but successful. She uses Sandberg 's stance to comment on the state in our society, using Sandberg’s argument as a launching pad. Brooks using this launching pad is able to uncover the issue of working around the clock. Her argument changes the way I understand Sandberg’s argument because even though “leaning in” can lead to success, Brooks presents the many negative effects this involvement can have on us.
The past decade has not seen any notable family sitcoms that has surpassed such leaps of social justice as some had in the 1950’s or 1970’s. While that may be disappointing to some, this is also a great feat for all television audiences. So many issues that were once considered, “taboos,” now, can be the premise of the sitcom altogether. Even the little things like interracial couples, married partners in the same bed, and even mentioning a pregnant woman is considered normal. Yes, the family sitcom is still no direct comparison to the modern family arrangement, but it is as close as were going to get for
The knowledge, skills, and experiences that I have acquired have laid the foundation to become a successful health care teacher. I have learned in my entire life that compassionate work for patient’s care serve as a foundation to build on, enabling me to become a responsible healthcare worker, leader & teacher. Being a medical professional for me is my passion for work and achieving goals. The medical field is ever changing because it requires constant learning and staying up to date with current issues. I graciously accept this responsibility.
Observation of practice Essential competencies and personal attributes necessary to observe our own practice (both as an individual and as part of a team) are presented. These will include professional training, welcoming professional challenge, the ability to leave one’s comfort zone and observe actions as if performed by another. Observation of
A practice placement portfolio is a collection of work by an individual which is used as evidence to show achievements and other learning that has taken place to enhance their professional development (Hayes E. 2013). It has an important role in the educational development of nursing students as it is a tool which can evaluate the student’s learning during the undergraduate programme and can act as a link between theory and practice (Jones E. 2010). It enables them to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they have developed throughout their training, as it makes them engage fully with their experiences from clinical practice which are valuable sources of learning (Joyce P. 2005, Ryan M. 2011). In the professional development of a qualified
