Susan B. Anthony was born into a Quaker family, with the hope that everyone would one day be treated equal. She denied a chance to speak at a temperance convention because she was a woman(Susan B. Anthony). From this point on, she knew that she needed to make a change. Susan B. Anthony, because of her intense work involving women 's’ rights, highly influenced all of the societies and beliefs that were yet to come. She employed a huge role in our history because of the fact that she advocated for women’s rights, for the integration of women in the workforce, and for the abolition of slavery.
In 1872 women did not have the right to vote and were not treated as equals to men. Susan B. Anthony, a leader for women's suffrage in her time, illegally voted in the presidential election that year. She believed that it is a basic human right for people to vote, and women should not be deprived of that right. She gave a speech explaining her civil disobedience using many tactics to get her audience to side with her in her fight for justice. In her speech, Susan B. Anthony used moral equivalence, logos, and anaphora to appeal to her audience and get them on her side.
At the beginning of the nineteenth century, American society began to focus on the welfare of minority groups. Women’s suffrage and abolition were rooted as deeply as the history of America, but asylum and prison reform sprouted with the Second Great Awakening, a movement that occurred in the early 1800s. The Second Great Awakening was led by religious leaders who advocated for changes in American society through the unity of the American people (Doc. Due to the Second Great Awakening, reform movements were established between 1825 and 1850 in order to represent the changes the people sought for in the issues of slavery, suffrage, and asylum and prison reform. The social aspect of the abolition movement led to the visible democratic changes in society and politics.
Although the socialist and the anarchist had their disagreement, they could still work together and become allies, as they both fight for labor’s rights. Ultimately, both groups have the same goal that they want to achieve, so if they can put aside their differences, they can be a powerful force and might be able to successfully advocate for the changes they wanted. It might be a difficult task to erase the dividing line between the two, but it is certainly possible to accomplish. They can come to an agreement that both sides will work hard and focus on the greater good of the working class. They can save the state power issue for later.
Women used many different methods to earn the right to vote in the Women’s Suffrage Movement. One method women used to earn support is that they organized a parade in Washington, D.C., the same day the president was coming into town so that there was large crowds. Many of the people in the crowd were men who, along with drinking also disagreed with the right for women to vote. They began to yell then even throw objects at the women walking in the parade. Eventually, the police walked away giving the men the opportunity to attack.
Susan B. Anthony played a major role in giving women the right to vote. She dedicated her life and never gave up on getting women civil rights. Women's voting privileges were extremely controversial during Ms. Anthony’s time. Every women should be very thankful that Susan Anthony had the courage to stand up and fight for their natural rights. Without Susan, women would not have the right to vote, including minorities.

Women's Voting Rights A woman voter, Susan B. Anthony, in her speech, Woman’s Right to Vote (1873), says that women should be allowed to vote. She supports this claim first by explaining that the preamble of the Federal Constitution states that she did not commit a crime, then she goes on about how women should be able to vote, then about how everyone hates the africans, and finally that the people of the United States should let women and africans vote. Anthony’s purpose is to make women able to vote in order to give women the right to vote on decisions made by the people. She creates a serious tone for the people of the United States.
How would our world look like if people were not determined to accomplish something? Revolutions, inventions and innovations are made not by our lazy vice but rather by our motivated efforts. Many successes stem from the mind(s) of individuals that allowed their determination to prosper, which in turn led to changes in the world. History has shown us many examples in which determination led to change in society whereas idleness resulted in nothing more than fixed habitual. The effects of The Woman's Suffrage Movement lead to many rights for woman such as the right to vote, right to own land, right to higher education, right to hold certain occupations etc.
In 1874, Susan B. Anthony wrote a petition to Untied States Congress requesting: “that the fine imposed upon your petitioner be remitted, as an expression of the sense of this high tribunal that her conviction was unjust." (Anthony) Anthony believed the fine $100 USD was unjust because she and her friends were just trying to fight for an amendment that would guarantee women’s voting rights. NWSA kept on with their steps to achieve their goal. In 1878, the Women Suffrage Amendment, later became the Ninth Amendment, had first introduced in the Congress of United States. “Susan B. Anthony: The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex.”
During Progressive Era, there were many reforms that occurred, such as Child Labor Reform or Pure Food and Drug Act. Women Suffrage Movement was the last remarkable reform. This movement was fighting about the right of women to vote, which was basically about women’s right movement. Many great leaders – Elizabeth Cad Stanton and Susan B. Anthony - formed the National American Women Suffrage Association (NAWSA). Although those influential leaders faced hardship during this movement, they never gave up and kept trying their best.
Susan B. Anthony, a woman who was arrested for illegally voting in the president election of 1872, in her “On Women's Right to Vote” speech, argues that women deserve to be treated as citizens of America and be able to vote and have all the rights that white males in America have. She begins by introducing her purpose, then provides evidence of how women are citizens of America, not just males by using the preamble of the Constitution, then goes on about the how this problem has became a big problem and occurs in every home in the nation, and finally states that women deserve rights because the discrimination against them is not valid because the laws and constitutions give rights to every CITIZEN in America. Anthony purpose is to make the woman of America realize that the treatment and limitations that hold them back are not correct because they are citizens and they deserve to be treated like one. She adopts a expressive and confident tone to encourage and light the hearts of American woman. To make her speech effective, she incorporates ethos in her speech to support her claims and reasons.
America is the land of the free and all citizens, both men and women should be able to exercise their right to vote. Susan claims, “ I not only committed no crime, but, instead, simply exercised my citizens' right, guaranteed to me and all United States citizens by the National Constitution, beyond the power of any state to deny.” This quote implies that Susan is trying to prove how her personal experience of voting should not have been counted against her since citizens of the United
