TRADER JOE’S – INDUVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT 1 Part 1 – Introduction What Joe Coulombe did was opening an ordinary supermarket into the industry but the strategies he took were separating the Trader Joe’s from its rivals. What he did was to offer products targeting sophisticated costumers who were searching for good bargains. The offerings of Trader Joe’s were so unique which are not found at rival shelfs. Another crucial decision he made was to take advantage of recent environmental movements such as the rising trend of costumers searching organic foods. The company also decided on selling private labelled products with lower prices than other brands of the same product.

In world the food industry is marked as great diversity and variety in terms of both presentation and flavor. For a country’s economic development an important role is played by the food industry of that country. One of the greatest food industries is Publix and I am so great full to be part of it. While working at Publix I discovered that how people and food are connected. And working as a clerk at Publix I contribute to people and food connection by making sure there is no unsafe food, check expiry date of a product, broken lid etc.

Kothari uses unique writing structure and personal stories to form a well-written piece.

The statement also establishes a link between what we eat and how it connects to particular memories and places in our minds. Moving on, the article is divided into six different subheadings. Each subheading explains the origin of indigenous food in different countries and what that denotes particular culture. The anaphora of “It’s” in their slogan creates the immediate association of quality to their packaged cold cuts, while aphorism is incorporated by making a statement that life is complicated, but “your sandwich doesn’t have to be”. Portmanteau supports Oscar Mayer’s ad by combining sane and sandwich to make “sanewich”, referring to the ease of making a sandwich
