Introduction of the Company
The automotive industry in Malaysia can be considered as one of the most important and strategic industries in the manufacturing sector which increase the rapid economy of the country. Proton is playing an important role in the Malaysia automotive market as it was the first Malaysian car brand which was formed under the command of Ex-Prime minister, Dr Mahathir Mohamad in 7th May of 1983. The proton head quarter launched in Shah Alam, Selangor. Proton Company is good at manufacturing, assembling and selling the cars and its components in the automotive market.
The company itself has journey along the way since it’s established in 1983 until finally it was registered on Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange in 1992. Initially Proton’s employees has reached in totals over 6000 personnel in all company department including production, manufacturing, Research & Development, and vehicle design department. Since 1983 Malaysian automobile industry is progressing rapidly and there are about 240,000 car units produced in a year. Furthermore, “Proton cars are exported in about 50 countries globally and there are four areas have been the major focus on its marketing which is Australia, Singapore, the Far-east and the UK” (Proton, 2014).
Due to the high competitions in automotive markets proton has struggled to retain its position among other rival competitors. It fails to escalation its revenue in the last few years. Further research has evolved that “the designs
