I read Eliza and her monsters by Francesca Zappia for my october essay. This book is about a teenage comic artist and her struggles with self discovery and relationships. Eliza is the author of a popular online comic which she writes under a penname. However, when a fan of the comic moves into Eliza school, she beings to run into problems. Soon she realises that being anonymous is not the most important thing. In this book, Zappia uses tons of symbolism to help form the plot.
