During World War II, Elie, his family, and other jews from the area, were deported to German concentration camps, known as Aushwitz and Buchenwald. In this true novel, Elie takes you through his journey of how horrible concentration camps are and how he survived
In the short story " The Leap" by Louise Erdrich the most prevalent conflict type is Man V.S Nature. The other part where nature got Anna was her house on fire she told her husband to take her dress off because her children were inside the house and her husband said no then she's said to "take my dress off now" so after that the husband tried to take the dress off and he could so Anna just ripped her dress off to save her children from the burning house, it didn't say how the house got on fire maybe it was nature that caused the house to

Having a sibling or multiple can be painstaking at points but it can also a relationship that nobody can tear apart. I have a sibling and we have the greatest bond of all time. We share many of the same characteristics as Lyman and Henry. “The Red Convertible” is a great example of two brothers who love eachother but the war has torn them apart. After researching Louise Erdrich 's life and reading “The Red Convertible”, the best literary elements of the short-story are the car in general, the raging waters, and the boots filling up with water to drown Henry.
Although Crane and Komunyakaa are both poets, they have their differences. Crane is writing about the civil war while Komunyakaa wrote about his experience of the Vietnam war. Crane’s historical background is inspired by reading about soldiers and their experience first handedly. “The Red Badge of Courage” is more of a psychological portrait of the main character’s perception in a time of war relating to Henry Fleming's experience in combat. Komunyakaa wrote his poem based on his personal experience of actually being there in the vietnam war serving as an information specialist.

Readers, especially those reading historical fiction, always crave to find believable stories and realistic characters. Tim O’Brien gives them this in “The Things They Carried.” Like war, people and their stories are often complex. This novel is a collection stories that include these complex characters and their in depth stories, both of which are essential when telling stories of the Vietnam War. Using techniques common to postmodern writers, literary techniques, and a collection of emotional truths, O’Brien helps readers understand a wide perspective from the war, which ultimately makes the fictional stories he tells more believable.

The mind’s imagination can deliver a delightful escape or bring terrifying pain and suffering. James Thurber’s “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” displays Walter Mitty as a man in a miserable scenario creating his own euphoric world. While in Louise Erdrich’s “The Red Convertible '' the narrator's brother Henry returns from Vietnam mentally astray, and faces horrors from his imagination as he relives past events from war. Thurber and Erdrich’s stories share many similarities whether it's the usage of flashbacks, symbolism, or even the characterization that connects the two very different stories.

The relationship between the brothers in “The Red Convertible” is in direct correlation with the condition of the car. When Henry first goes away to war the relationship is in good standing. The car is also is good condition when Henry leaves for Vietnam. Upon returning from war, their relationship is not where it was when Henry had left.
