What logic was there behind this horrible tradition besides making everyone miserable. She may have hated this woman with a passion but Mena felt some sympathy for her deep deep down, she was stuck with someone who would never love her and she couldn't possibly love someone that was hardly around. That same sympathy was the reason Mena hated the woman so so much, she had what Ximena so desperately wanted. Dak was the love of her life but Lyona had his titles, Lyona had children to adore, a stable enough environment to live in without fear or being made into a pie or killed in some other horrible way, Lyona had everything Ximena wanted. Was it wrong to be jealous of her even though Mena had all of Daks love? It was enough to keep her happy but Lyona made it so hard to appreciate.
