Dogs Summary Response Catharine Sedgwick’s short story “Dogs,” was first published in The Juvenile Miscellany in 1828, under the pseudonym Stockbridge. S. The Juvenile Miscellany, was a children’s magazine that was published in Boston, Massachusetts. The intended audience for Sedgwick’s story, was children. Sedgwick’s story is about a mother teaching her children that even though dogs may be inferior beings, they are still capable of good, and much unconditional love.
When the dogs are having a rough time the team goes out and rescues them, to give them second chances. Once they are all set with their health, then they are all set to be put up for adoption and hopefully the dogs will finally have a good home and a second chance in life. The rehabilitation and placement center is called Villalobos Rescue Center and that’s where the dogs live until they are better and this is where the parolee’s work. But the rehabilitation is mainly for the pitbulls and parolees. To add on to the fact Tia also gives second chances to the parolee’s too.

From his earliest childhood memories, his father brutally, physically abused him, and he was sexually abused by four other adults outside of the home. Tyler never felt safe. Once, at age 6, when his mother was gone, his drunken father brutally whipped him with a vacuum cord until the skin was coming off of his back; he had to wait until his father went to sleep before he could run to his aunts for help.
I read W. Bruce Cameron’s novel A Dog’s Purpose. This book has 180 pages. According to a customer review on Amazon,”Definitely a MUST have book.” I believe that A Dog’s Purpose is for ages 10+. The reason why I think that is because there are a few sad events and some violence that kids may not like.

Her friends helped her with what they could, but she had to face the main challenge. She had to show courage and bravery to save an animal she loved.

Even though many people believe emotional support dogs are considered service dogs and should have the same rights as the others, owners of service dogs are treated unfairly because of the increase in numbers of fake service dogs. This affects the ability for one to use a service dog to its full potential. People cannot be asked to leave a public place if the business thinks it is a fake dog because some service dogs are simply under-trained. A pit bull named Booger saved his owner, Bernann McKinney, when another dog three times his size attacked her. She had to be in a wheelchair after the accident because of nerve damage, so Booger learned how to push her wheelchair. He also opened the door with his mouth and took her shoes and socks off for her. He did all of this without being taught. When her beloved dog died, she missed him so much that she had him cloned.

Joyce Carol Oates’ story, written almost 100 years later, also named “The Lady with the Pet Dog” is about a woman who cheats on her husband with a lover she truly falls in love with. Even with these two stories being very similar as much as having the same title, one can be determined as the better piece.
