Individuality and cultures are two different things. First you have individuality, this is a single person and all of the things that they believe to be right and wrong. An individual gets to pick how to best live their lives, which we call prudence. We live in every day prudence by self-control; how we plan, and the things we decide to engage in. “This is also the morality, of what they believe is rightly owed to other” (justice). Individuals rightly own figuring out what one thinks, it narrows down to making it clear what they believe is rightly owed to them. Individuality also introduces the theory of Taste versus Value. You have all of these many characters with different reasoning behind how viruses are created. In Appiah you have Anthony’s aunt Asokua in Ghana believes witchcraft causes disease. Then, you have his neighbor Abigail in Manhaqan believes viruses cause disease. These are different sources of knowledge based upon different reasons. Both Asokua and Manhaqan agree that virus exists. They only disagree on how it comes about. This is the same thing as in our society today. We have a lot of people that believes in the same practices, but disagree on the reasons for it. For example, making accommodation in our society for something that would not on the other had be accepted (like homosexuality), but making those certain accommodations for different reasons (allowing gay marriages to take place
