• Issue #1: Not enough funding available to provide full-time employee benefits - is a legal issue if Social Security and Workers' Compensation benefits the company must provide by law are not provided; otherwise it’s an ethical issue. TechFite has to make ethical decisions whether or not to cut employee benefits they agreed to provide and pay an excessive bonus to corporate executives they agreed to pay. The outcomes from these decisions will have either a positive or negative impact on the company’s reputation, employee welfare, and wellbeing, including on the communities where they work and live. • Issue #2: Reducing hours to keep many employees classified as part-time - is a legal issue if hours are reduced without giving written notice, otherwise it is an ethical issue. TechFite may need to make ethical decisions to move employees from full-time to part-time to avoid layoffs or cut jobs due to tight budget constraints and financial difficulties. • To implement the new policies the Ethics Officer will meet with company leaders in each department to ensure policy feasibility and that they have a clear understanding of the new policies. The policies will be added to the Employee Handbook and Personnel Policy Handbook. Email communication will be sent out to all employees with a link to the new policies. Employee information sessions will be held live and online video to ensure that employees understand the new policies and have the opportunity to ask questions. • To monitor the new policies the Ethics Officer will facilitate a weekly meeting with managers will to make sure they have developed a successful plan to ensure employee understanding and compliance.
