In the UNI production of The Aliens, all of the technical elements created an overall cohesive display of the play's world. Specifically, the scenic, lighting, sound, and costume design significantly aided an effective, immersive environment of the play. However, some aspects of these technical elements weren't as effective as others. Within the scenic element, there were a lot of aspects that were really effective, while some others seemed a bit confusing. The use of the brick walls definitely aided the audience's feeling of being in an alley way. In addition, the choice of using a realistic, three-dimensional texture for the bricks instead of using a flat pattern without texture made the bricks seem legitimate and not simply painted on. Furthermore, the use of graffiti on the walls of the bricks increased the feeling of an urban alley. The transitions between the scenes where you can hear cars passing by or a man complaining in the background, helped the audience to feel like they were in the city instead of a theater. During the Fourth of July scene, the noise of the fireworks in the background was not too overpowering, taking away from the acting and the rest of the elements of the scene. However, it was also loud enough for the audience to exist in the moment of the play with the actors and feel like the fireworks were occurring in reality. Moreover, the parts of the scene where the air conditioner noise was turned on and off significantly aided the audience in feeling and experiencing the world of the play in an alley way. These sound elements would definitely be present in the play's environment, bringing the audience that much closer to experiencing the play as it would be
