In the mid 1800’s, technological advancements contributed greatly to the industrial revolution. Machines such as the mechanical reaper, the steam power, and the telegraph were used to benefit society and increase production. The mechanical reaper was used to increase the production of wheat, the steam power was used for the ability to work through unexpected weather conditions as well as to lengthen the amount of employment throughout the seasons, and the telegraph was used to speed up and aid in long distance communication. Technological advancements such as these and others have affected farming immensely. For example, the mechanical reaper sped up the production of wheat, the cotton gin allows for cotton to be cleaned at a faster pace, and the development of railroads have allowed for easier and …show more content…

Working as a farmer can also be beneficial during these times because their profit will increase as the production of goods increase and they will never run out of their own supply of food. Technological advancements during the Industrial Revolution have allowed for mass production and lower costs for common goods.
Industrialization had many effects on common factory workers. There were few positive effects on these factory workers through industrialization, but to name a few they were that these advancements gave them the ability to work through unfavorable weather conditions and because a majority of the workers were unskilled, it was not difficult to obtain an education for this type of work. To outweigh the positive effects on factory workers, there were many negative effects as well. For example, they worked in very dirty and polluted unsafe environments, the machinery was very unsafe and an injury usually resulted in the loss of their job, living spaces were cramped and dirty which made it very easy to catch diseases, and because this type of work only needed
