In the mid 1980s, Charles Hull invented 3D printing. He named this innovation stereolithography. 3D process creates three dimensional models in layers that are usually about 0.1 mm thin. This process has been able to print skin for burn victims, airway splints, orthopedic implant and many other useful body parts. Every minute, twenty people are injured worldwide in road accidents. There are people that lose limbs and they need mobility devices. However, eighty percent of them are unable to get them because the process takes a lot of time and it is really expensive. In 2012, there were 154,324 patients waiting for organ transplant and eighteen percent of them received organ transplant. Organ transplant and follow up cost over three hundred billion dollars in 2012. Now, a process that takes $100,000 will cost only $1000 with this technology. Furthermore, this technology will be beneficial for the surgeons. Any kind of surgery needs precision. The benefit of 3D printing is that it enables the surgeon to practice before the surgery, so there will not be any mistakes during the surgery. 3D printing in the medical industry gives people a new life. It has helped thousands of people. Currently, ninety nine percent of the hearing aid are made using 3D printing. Research firm Gartner predicts that about 10% of the people in the world will live on 3D printed bodies by 2019. Currently, there are some issues with the 3D printing. The body parts that are made by this technology sometimes melt in countries like Nigeria because of the hot temperature. However, the innovators are going to continue to work to make 3D printing in the medical industry
