Nu was the name of the swirling waters at the begging of time. A god named Atum rose from the waters he had created him self by his thoughts. He created a hill so he could stand on it. Atum was alone and was very lonely so he coughed and gave birth to his son and named him Shu he was god of air then he vomited out his daughter and named her Tefnut and she was the goddess of mist and moisture. Shu and Tefnut were given a job to finish creating the world. Shu and Tefnut gave birth to Geb and Nut the earth and sky god they were stuck together so Shu pushed Nut up and he was the sky god and Geb remand down as the goddess of the earth. Nut provided rain for Geb so that she could grow things on the earth. Nut would give birth to the sun every dawn
