Given the dual coding capabilities is a part of the deal, it is extra work nonetheless. This would invariable result in loss of productivity and practices will need to assign extra coding resources. It is safe to assume that medical coding productivity drops by 50% for medical coders who are not proficient with ICD-10 claims. This claim is no way unrealistic. This means that the time the coders take to assign ICD-10 codes to four medical claims, they miss out on processing 8
The Baltimore County Fire Department is a progressive department that adapts to world around us. Every day there are new advancements in technology, medical research, and treatment modalities. The BCoFD strives to provide high quality patient care which starts with proper trainings that supports the needs of the county’s citizens. Trainings are cost-justified through current research, compliance of department standards, and mandatory requirements for certifications and licenses. Based off those components, there is a recognition for the need of training.
The jargon that is used between dispatch and the law enforcement officers is unique to the area and allows for all individuals in the department to understand the situation and respond accordingly (Rainey, 2014, p. 360). By using the short codes decreases the amount of talking on the radios which results in more effective communication, most of the

HCPCs also known as level II codes are used primarily to identify products, supplies, and services not included in the CPT codes. Ambulance services, durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics and supplies are coded using HCPCS. HCPCs codes were developed to simplify medical billing. Standardized coding is necessary to ensure that claims processing proceeds in an orderly and timely fashion. Medicare and Medicaid are required to use HCPCs coding
In the states of our economy today, a need to regulate business transactions in a uniform way is necessary. UCC plays an important role to protect individuals and business. It was developed to address the increasingly complex legal and contractual requirements in today’s commercial dealings. The primary purpose of the UCC is to make business activities more predictable and efficient.
There are around 40,000 injury and poisoning codes in ICD-10 compared to a meager 2,600 in ICD-9. Even external cause of injury increased from 1,300 in ICD-9 to 6,800 in ICD-10. 3. ICD-10 will improve patient care. Let us clear this up a bit.
Christopher Browning, in his essay called Police Battalion 101, thought that human beings, for the most part, are followers not leaders. People tend to go with the majority, listen to people with higher power, watch bad things happen without doing anything about it, and stereotype other people. Browning’s thoughts have been supported by many other stories we have read such as, The Third Wave, The Brown Eyed-Blue Eyed Experiment, The David Cash Case, and The Lunch Date. Police Battalion 101 was ordered to go to Jozefow in 1942.
I don 't agree with the way the Committee of Public Safety was being operated and how they solved problems, like cutting peopleś head off,but the way they solved their problems was effective, and it protected their country against their enemies. The Committee of Public Safety was keeping all people who were against the French Revolution away from the country. They were keeping people who seemed suspicious of treason away from France, to protect the revolution which was its job. I don 't agree with the idea that death is the answer to every single problem, there were less violent punishment they could of did more of like jails and slave work because violence isn 't the only solution. Altogether, I do believe they were successful at
This shows that the communication was so bad that the police got an incorrect message from its own operator. Lots of firefighters also could not hear each other very well. In The Atlantic it says, “firefighters and police not hear each other”. This shows that they communicated with each other, but they could not understand each other. Overall, this shows that there is no point in communication if one cannot understand the
During my nurse training it has become apparent that the care patients receive in an emergency situation is critical upon time and organised, effective team working. It is essential that in a trauma situation, the trauma team be activated only when necessary (Au and Holdgate, 2010). After researching the trauma team activation criteria, it appears there is some discrepancy as to what criteria is used to activate the team, be it a two or three tiered system, or a different system entirely (Tinkoff and O’Connor, 2002). There is also relevant discussion as to who should make the decision on whether the trauma team is activated or not (Clements and Curtis, 2012). I have chosen to look into the activation process further, as it is of upmost importance
Therefore bridging this gap and the movement towards uniform communication is highly warranted in prevention of adverse effects among unit handoff
In discussions of passing the Michael brown Jr law which equips police officers to wear a body camera, one controversial issue has been that most police brutalities are not caught on tape or no witness sees what exactly happened, and who started what. The source argues that some cases of police brutalities that are caught on tape police does nothing to handle the case. My own view is that police officers should be equipped with body cameras so in case of police brutality cases they can know exactly what happened that day so there will be no questions asked for the police officers. According to article “Pass the Michael Brown, Jr. Law to begin equipping police with body cameras” that the case of Michael Brown Jr in Ferguson where Officer Darren
In law enforcement for the longest time ten codes and signal codes were the primary way of communicating on the radio. But over the years, and the introduction of NIMS, plain talk has become another prominent way of communicating over the radio. In the following paragraphs I will give my take on the pros and cons of ten codes and signal codes versus plain talk. Ten codes were first introduced in law enforcement before World War Two. The first set of ten codes was published in 1940 by the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials.

Just knowing the basics can be a huge help to someone in
