She became very interested in what the people were preparing and started talking about different foods she had liked to cook. Dinner time I immediately noticed a change in her appetite and she surprised me when she asked for seconds. The family was very pleased to here she had a good appetite. After explaining to the family what channel her and I had watched that day, the family made sure they noted it in her book of favorite channels to watch. I was happy that I was of help and the family was very appreciative.

After the first two 20 minute sessions observing Taylor’s physical development, the following two 20-minute sessions were on Taylor’s cognitive aspects of development. At first, Taylor didn’t show any interest in me. He seemed puzzled by my appearance and would frequently look at me. However, he seemed to have a good understanding of his mother. He would smile at her and was seen frequently lifting his hands when his mother came towards him.
Special Education has changed quite a bit over the years. We’ve come a long way from where we were not too long ago. However, there a still ways that it can be improved. Having a sister with Down syndrome has showed me ways in which Special Education can still be improved, and must be improved for our children to reach their highest potential.
The first observation was conducted on August 30th at 9:00 a.m., while the student was participating in the special education resource room. The observation took place for a total of 25 minutes. For the duration of the observation the student was seated at a small table working one-on-one with the special education teacher. Along with the student being observed and the special education teacher, two other students, as well as, two paraprofessionals were in the special education resource room during the observation time. One student and paraprofessional were working one-on-one at a small table, while the other student was sitting in a bean bag chair reading a book.

Classroom Observation Reflection Abrar Hilal University of Oklahoma Tuesday, February 12 Classroom Observation Reflection Special Education Classroom Report The special education classroom that I observed, included the main teacher, two teacher assistants, and ten students with Developmental Delays. The main teacher uses technology to aid the students to learn easy and faster. A smart board is present in the classroom, but the teacher doesn 't use it often as she prefers to use her own handouts and her specially created activities. I think this is effective as she can modify activities better and so that the students benefit from that personalized touch.
I have completed my project of observes/participate in 15 hours and 12 minutes at Arts’ N Autism. Arts’ N Autism practicum setting of the sprout room is a room upstairs in the center ages from 4 to 8 who are after school children with Autism. The sprout room is big enough for all seven of the children. Each child has a basket holder located on the right side of the classroom from their personal items such as their pants, pull-ups, and toys. There are two computers located on the classroom desk.
I spent my fifteen hours observing two special education classrooms at Sulphur Intermediate School. One focused on math and the other on reading, though many of the children I observed worked in both classrooms. The students were in the third, fourth, and fifth grades. Most of the students had mild to moderate disabilities and simply needed extra help in reading, math, or both subjects. They did not stay for the entire day, but rather came for certain periods.
