“Thank you, ma’am” RTL “Thank you, ma’am” by Langston Hughes is an adventurous short story. In this story a boy named Roger tried stealing Mis. Jones pocketbook so he could get some shoes but, Mis. Jones decied to teach him a lesson. She took the boy back to her house to get washed up and she made food for him. Then she had a discussion with him basically saying that she was like him growing up and that there are other ways to get the things you need and want. Due to Roger interaction with Mis. Jones Roger is probably going to change. Yes, Roger’s life is going to change because Mis. Jones decied to see through his lies and help him instead of ignoring his cry for help. So to begin with, is that Roger had never had anyone to show him right fro wrong before, he met Mis. Jones so, natrualy when she told him right from wrong his mental thought of right to wrong changed. For example, the author wrote “you ought to be my son I would teach you right from wrong”. Jones decided to take time out of her day to help teach Roger a lesson. First Roger interaction with Mis. Jones is going to change his life because he was not a bad kid to begin with it look like it.Roger probably needed shoes so when he chose he steal a person pocketbook to get what them his life changed when he ran into Mis. Jones. The reason Roger acts the way he does as the author states “There’s nobody home at my house”said the boy”. This shows that with nobody at home to give him attention food, or shoes Roger got the inpression he had to go out and steal in order to get what he needed. So, when he ran into Mis.
