In Brett Anderson’s review of the upscale New Orleans restaurant, Brennan’s, he explains his opinion of what it takes to be one of the top 10 restaurants in the city. Since the recent renovations Brennan’s has undergone, Anderson believes that it has saved itself from going out of business. He clearly states that he loved the restaurant by calling it “an exuberant, sprawling pleasure palace that is dead serious about its culinary mission.” His reasoning for stating this was that he believed the food was good as he explained how the head chef “restored the historic restaurant’s reputation for culinary excellence.” Another reason he loved the restaurant was for the atmosphere to which he noted at the beginning of the reviewing saying it was because of the
Chapter 7 of Fast Food Nation discussed the starting of meatpacking industry and its downfalls. At first, Iowa Beef Packers (IBP) used the same principle as McDonald’s principle to make fast foods. IBP hired unskilled workers just to do simple and repeated work all day. However, competition with other companies made IBP low wages and health insurance options. This caused slaughterhouses to move West to gain cheap labor and land.

Ever just wonder what makes the food from McDonald’s, Burger King, Jack in the Box, or other successful fast food restaurants so good. Well in this proposal, you will know 3 things that the fast food industry is hiding. The author of the book, Chew On This, is Eric Schlosser. The book was published in 2006. It’s mostly about the things of fast food; what they hide what they do to become successful.
Throughout history, investigative journalists have and continue to expose injustices and corruption in America and across the world. In the book Fast Food Nation, Eric Schlosser retells the history of the fast food industry and exposes its unsanitary environment, unhealthy product composition, and dangerous practices. One could compare this book’s subject to that of The Jungle by Upton Sinclair, which exposed the terrible conditions of the meatpacking industry, something Schlosser also discusses within the book. While the conditions of the fast food industry as a whole may be shocking at first, the reader could either drastically change their lifestyle based on the facts presented, or just push them to the back of their mind.

Bang! The doors to the dining hall of the grossly overpriced restaurant burst open. The guests rapidly turn their heads towards the door in attempt to discover who is responsible for the disruption. To no surprise it is Creon, 45 minutes late, making an unnecessarily obnoxious scene. All of the other guests had already arrived at the dinner party.
Dean and Chris, 22 and 24 years old, respectively, made their dream a reality in June of 2002 when they accumulated enough money to buy Plato’s Diner. Plato’s Diner is a 1950’s diner located upstate New York and

In the article, “Don’t Blame the Eater,” David Zinczenko argues it is the fast food industry’s fault for the nation 's growing obesity epidemic. Furthermore, he believes people should not be blamed for their own obesity. Zinczenko argues fast-food is much more available to the fast paced lifestyle people live in rather than consuming healthy alternatives. He also discusses the fact so many people are on a low budget, it is then best and more inexpensive for them to consume fast-food. Zinczenko states a claim that the fast-food industry “would do well to protect themselves, and their customers, by providing the nutrition information people need” (Zinczenko 464).

I think it’s a possibility that mass shootings here in America can affect the restaurant industry. Especially, since mass shootings have left many people to fear their love ones will be the next victims. As a result, more people are starting to prepare their foods at home rather than go out and eat at a restaurant. According to Washington CBSDC, “mass shootings can take away people’s ability to trust that they will be relatively safe as they go out into their world” (2015, para. 3). Therefore, the stress and fear of having to always look over your shoulder has basically cause many people to only feel safe in their own homes.
