Do you ever think about the American Dream? Do you ever wish you could live one? Well in the book The CATCHER in the RYE consist of every American Dream you could imagine! Living the teenage Dream living on your own, without you parent by your side telling you what to do, partying all the time in the big city of New York, and spending endless money on whatever you could ever want. First, every teenager wants to live without their parents telling them what to do and when to do it and having no rules, am I right? Holden attends pencey prep and he lives on campus without his parents there, Holden smoke, drinks and parties without his parents knowing because he never goes and visits them on the weekends. Holden can leave on weekends to go see his parents but he chooses not to, he decides to go to the city and have a few drinks and hang out with his friends like Ackley and Stradlater. Holden is always trying to have a few drinks with or without his friends, he tries to invite girls to drink with him like Jane or Ann.
