On many occasions, the American dream is associated with the search for happiness. Indeed, the idea of this dream arises from the American Declaration of Independence that portrays the United States as the land of freedom, rights and happiness. However, this dream has changed over the years. In other words, the original American dream has decayed and, in its place, a new idea of happiness based on pleasure has arisen.
