The Reality of an American Dream Do you believe that Americans still provide an access to the American Dream? From varieties of different perspective, successfulness has many different meanings that could include stable jobs and stable families. Those men who were married had the highest labor force participation of 74.6 percent. Also men who lives in North America has a highest employment rate of 52 percent. America still provides access to an American Dream to the “tired, poor, and the huddled masses.” If the lower class people have a strong courage in American Dream, it can be successful. The reason is that they learn a lesson from their struggles. On Lifelong Dreamer-Vietnam Boat Person, is a story about Nancy Phan who was an immigrant during the war. She had no money, no job, and didn’t spoke any language when she first came to United States. As she goes through hardship, she still had a courage for her dream, “I’ve always had my dreams. When I had such a hard life through moving out of country, I started to write about my dream in a journal. This helped me so much by knowing what my dream, which was a violinist. I started to practice violin mostly everyday in order to achieve my goal. Later, I was accepted into Georgia Music Education Association’s top orchestra. I realized that there are many chances of an opportunity if you try your best and have strong endurance than others. My story reminds a speech from Keynote Address 2004 by President Obama. His grandfather was an immigrant from Kenya. He first came to United State as a servant for British, but later he got a scholarship through hard work. The similarity from the speech and my experience is that even though we are immigrants, we both succeed or in a process of a succession of an American
