Does The “American Dream” Still Exist? AMERICAN DREAM The American Dream is the belief that anything can be achieved through Hard Work and Determination. Its idolized by most all immigrants idolize this idea but almost all natural born Americans take this opportunity for granted. A prime example of a successful endeavor Is MLK. He fought for black rights and achieved it with persistence, even though he is no longer here his movements and actions will forever effect America. As a Teen to make money he worked as a Messenger for a Telegraph company, and he participated in factory making sewing machines. In 1953 he was hired by Thomas Scott who managed Pennsylvanian Railroad Co. He worked there now as a Secretary and Telegraph Operator. In the beginning, he only made a meager 4 dollars a week. He worked his way up and started gaining more and more so he started to invest in things. Oil speculation made him a millionaire. He bought a share initially for 40k. Then he invested in The Steel Industry which had begun raising in wealth. Moreover, there is another huge example of someone who really defined the American Dream. This person is hopefully known by us all since he did a lot of good for everyone. There was a kid around 13 or 14 who had a dream. He wasn’t born exactly in the United States, but rather on US soil still considered America. He had a dream that one day he’d help everyone. He would be there for everyone and do anything anyone needed. His dream was one sought after by thousands even millions of people but that didn’t stop him. He pushed through with no Avail. He was going to stop at nothing to support everyone in America. He was going to take on all our problems and burdens, He did this willingly.
