. Imperialism is the practice of a country extending control through diplomacy or military force. From 1890 through 1905 many citizens of the United States supported the idea of U.S. territorial expansion through imperialism. However, some Americans didn't support this policy and created the Anti-Imperialist League in order to express their voice in the debate.
