The apostle Paul originally called Saul was a persecutor for the Roman’s. On a journey, Paul was on the Damascus Road when he got a revelation from God. The revelation impacted by the fact that he began to preach the word of God. Rather than persecuting the followers of Jesus, he began to preach about Jesus. Although Paul grew up as a Pharisee he still didn’t follow the religion in the same matter as post-revelation. The impact of the revelation was significant to Paul because he spoke to God and was given a purpose and a mission. Therefore, Paul began to spread the word of God, especially to the Gentiles. Paul claimed that he felt what Jesus felt on the cross, he felt he was buried with Christ and he thought that by imitating him you are imitating Jesus Christ. We tend to associate God as a gentle, warm person But John shows a different God who is terrifying. John sees God in heaven as a person with eyes of fire and sword-like tongue. When I image that in my head I think of a person who is much stronger and capable of ruling the world. The story John tells is much darker compared to the Gospels we are given a figure that John calls over-Ram lamb, which has seven eyes and seven horns and that fire shoots from his eyes.
