Abstract
Euthanasia is the termination of an extremely ill person’s life in order to relieve them from the suffering the illness is causing. Euthanasia is usually only conducted on a person with an incurable condition, however there are other instances when euthanasia can be carried out. The euthanasia issue caused considerable controversy in the world, only a few countries allow euthanasia around the world, such as the Netherlands, and Belgium, and Switzerland and the United States in some States, many countries are still have great differences on this issue. Although euthanasia is suffering from a patient's own departure, it also related to the other members of the family. The health care fee of a terminally ill patient is expensive, in order to treat the disease, the family may heavily in debt, or even go bankrupt. Also, witness for family member's condition deteriorated and cannot help let them feel hopeless. The relatives bear a huge mental and physical and economic stress due to take care of the patient. Actually, the survival of the painful patient cause pain more than happiness to the relative. Although the death of the patient causes lot of pain to the relative, it’s a short term pain, they can finally out of this pain. If keep the patient’s life stubbornly, its causes a long term pain to both the patient and relative. Therefore, euthanasia can help the patient and the relative out of the torment, suffer less stress and pain.
Thirdly, the angle of the health care worker. Doctors not only have a duty to save the lives, but also to take all necessary measures to mitigate or eliminate the suffering of the patient. The implementation of euthanasia is not seeking medical treatment, is to meet patients and their relatives of physical, psychological, spiritual requirements; not to fight for the death, but live without pain. The nature of euthanasia is mitigate or eliminate the suffering of the patient, to optimize the death, therefore help the patient eliminate the suffering through euthanasia reflects the good of the
