The Aztecs were an ancient civilization found in the area of Mesoamerica, their time period was from 1350 to 1519. Now in the modern-days of Mexico City. There capital city was Tenochtitlan. Two aspects of their culture that they are known for are agriculture and human sacrifice. However, historians should emphasize human sacrifice.
The ruins of Tenochtitlan were the base on which the Spaniards built a new colony. Indeed, with the defeat of the Aztecs, the last indigenous civilization of Mexico disappeared. Brilliant and fragile, it managed to dominate the country only almost a century. Under Spanish rule, existing city-states provided the rough basis for parish delineations, encomienda grants, and the establishment of municipal governing counsels in the Spanish manner.
Tenochtitlán was the capital city of the Aztec civilization. It was founded in AD 1325 by the Mexica people. This city was built on a cluster of small natural islands on Lake Texcoco in the Valley of Mexico. The small island was gradually enlarged as Tenochtitlán grew. It became one of the largest and most powerful cities in Mesoamerica.
Montazuma the second was possibly one of the most important people in the entire history of The Aztec history. This is because he was the king/emperor when the Spanish concurs concurred the Aztec empire. He was born in 1466 and died in 29 of June 1520. According to one of the sources I used Montazuma was killed by the citizens of Tenochtitlan using rocks and spears because Cortez and his men forced Montazuma to admit defeat to his people. Letting the Spanish in to Tenochtitlan and showing weeknes was a horrible decision because the Spanish concurs saw this and used it against him.
The Aztecs migrated to the shores of lake texcoco. To the people living in the valley they were disliked because they pushed others out of there way. The aztecs took over the people living in the valley and beyond. By 1434 were demanding tribute and military support from everybody they conquered. The aztecs believed in many gods and were recognized by a cycle of festivals and ceremonies that involved feasting, dancing, and sacrificing.

Barnett Reinventing the Aztecs, Part one was a self-eluding article that really took away from the everyday knowledge of the Aztecs and let the reader really get into what the Aztecs were about music, spiritually and religiously from different ideas of poems and sacrifices. Throughout the article the reader listens as Barnett gives an insight of the many different rituals that were not usually given to the audience in a history book. The Aztecs believed that they gods kept the world going. The Aztecs had many customs and traditions in order to please the gods.

So what was it like in the middle ages for the Aztecs? In 1325, the Aztecs settled on a lake called Lake Texcoco. They called this city Tenochtitlan. How did they survive on a swampy lake? They built chinampas and connected the chinampas with causeways.
Tezcatlipoca showed them this by a “prickly pear cactus, standing upon a rock that has grown from this heart and has become so tall and luxuriant that a fine eagle has made his nest there”. Then Tezcatlipoca orders the Aztecs to call that place Tenochtitlan. Later when the community developed more, Hernan Cortes came to check on them in 1519.
Aztec Empire The Aztecs were a great Empire that lasted approximately 200 years. They entered the Valley of Mexico from North and founded their capital in the center of a lake. Their capital was called Tenochtitlan, and it was founded in 1325. In 1428 a Triple Alliance was formed with other two cities, Texcoco and Tlacopan, consolidating what we now call, the Great Aztec Empire.
