In chapter 5 of Bad Boy, Walter talks about baseball, meeting his dad and his brothers. In the summer of 1947 Walter was excited that they let Jackie Robinson and Larry Dobby into Major League Baseball. Walter would gather all of his neighborhood friends to watch baseball with him. Soon Walter’s biological father moved to Harlem, because his wife had family there. Walter never considered his biological father his dad because he never acted like it.

The genre of the novel is realistic fiction, because a reporter could attend a World series featuring the Boston Red Sox and the Washington Nationals.

A couple of days later, he fainted on the train, and was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, and was weakened by an operation (Macht 40). Babe was thirty-nine, and still played (Macht 53), that means he played for twenty years, however, he only hit twenty-two home runs within 125 games (Macht 53). He eventually signed with the Boston Braves, but he wanted to quit because he was tired.

Batman vs Superman For my compare and contrast paragraph I chose Batman vs Superman. Batman and Superman are alike in a lot of ways but there some differences. There are both alike because they are both super heroes, both from DC, and both are good at what they do. Batman in different from Superman is that Batman can’t fly and Superman can fly because his powers. Another thing is that Batman fights in Gotham the most crime ridden city.
Babe was a warm hearted baseball player, and loved to help children in any ways that he could. Often times, Babe was to be found helping out at hospitals or orphanages making sick and lonely children happy as can be. Babe Ruth also donated money to the orphanages as well hospitals, since he cared about children so much. The Great Bambino was also a huge role model to children since he made such positive impact on everyone around him, and was a great person in general. Many children from the 20’s wanted to be just like Babe because of his generosity and his skills in baseball.
This quarter I read the realistic fiction book, The Batboy by Mike Lupica. This book is a story about a 14 year old boy named Brian Dudley. Son of a former pitcher and an avid baseball fan, Brian gets his dream summer job: the bat boy for his favorite team the Detroit Tigers. When it seems like his summer cannot get any better, his all-time favorite player Hank Bishop is signed to the team. At the beginning, Hank is cold and yells at Brian a lot, but in the end they become friends.
