I believe we see the best in Odysseus when he comes up with the plan to get out of the cave. The plan was clever and smart, and it saved him and his men’s lives. He tricks the cyclops; Polyphemus into drinking Greek wine. Greek wine is said to be very strong as well. So Polyphemus continues to drink this wine until he passes out drunk. Polyphemus is the only person who could move the boulder in front of the cave, this is why Odysseus does not kill him, and he just blinds him instead. When Polyphemus gets up he moves the boulder, and tries to find Odysseus and his men. Odysseus then notices that the sheep were escaping so he tied him and his men to the sheep and escaped the cave with them. This shows how smart and clever Odysseus was during
