Rick Moody’s, The Apocalypse Commentary of Bob Paisner is hardly an academic paper. The narrator, here a forthcoming graduate, traces his own experiences in college in the order of the Revelation of St. John. By random inclusion of parenthetical documentation of biblical scripture; and allusion to key apocalyptic figures, concepts, and events throughout the plot; Moody created a parallel between his life and the prophecy of John recorded in the book of Revelation. He marks each instance as a new section, labeled by a significant component of Revelation, in chronological order. Moody does little to expand upon or explain the prophecies of John beyond how he perceived them to be happening in his own life.

According to this article, the author, Stephen Homey is an associate professor of New Testament and Greek at Messiah Biblical Institute and Graduate School of Theology in Gaithersburg Maryland. This institute is a Messianic institute that focuses on Jewish teachings . There is very little information available about this institution. The article began with a general introduction regarding the purpose of Revelation. The author pointed out that the Book of Revelation is about two opposing powers that clash: Jesus and Satan; with the Lamb coming out as the Victor.

The book of Revelation emphasizes that Christ will return someday to establish his kingdom of justice, and righteousness, and make all the wrong happening stop. Ray Bradbury emphasizes these books from the bible to demonstrate how Montag’s remembrance of the books is used to travel through the world in hopes to use that knowledge to change the world’s interpretation on what books do to a person’s thoughts. Author Judith E. Becker Divides the Book of Revelation to Help Christians Understand God’s Plans for the Future The prolific Christian author publishes a book to teach the Revelation of Jesus Christ to readers, “not to sensationalize any personal predictions about the future.” Rightly Dividing the Book of Revelation (Landmark Press GA, 2017) by Judith E. Becker, like most books on Revelation, tackles prophesied political events, only that it does not ignore the physical events in ancient history. The author deems it necessary to take the physical aspects into account to show that God’s mighty works that were done in the times of the prophets are the same that He will do in the future.
In his Dissertation (for the requirements for the degree of doctor of philosophy in English), Hyong-jun Moon, of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, writes, “imagination of the end of the world can provide us with a perspective that approaches our current situations in a radically refreshing way” (18). This shows that Mandel can use the genre to force the reader to think about life differently than the reader does now. Mandel can force the reader to think about a life without modern possessions. In the book After the End: Representations of Post-apocalypse, James Berger, senior lecturer in American Studies and English at Yale University, states, “the writer and reader must be both places at once, imagining the post-apocalyptic world and then paradoxically “remembering” the world as it was, as it is” (6). This quote shows that while writing about the post-apocalyptic world the reader and writer must both have the present in their minds.

Book of REVELATION, is the last book of the Bible. The word ‘Revelation’ is derived from the Greek word ‘apokalupsis’ which means “a disclosure, or unveiling, and this book unveils Christ and the mystery of His return to earth as the Judge. This revelation was given to the apostle John while he was in Roman-imposed exile on the Island of Patmos in the eastern Mediterranean around 95 A.D. The book of Revelation has 22 chapters and the events are arranged in chronological order.
Revelation covers more than it establishes, and to us God remains unknown. The finite cannot comprehend the infinite and time cannot comprehend

Indeed, scholars suggest that apocalyptic is a development of Jewish prophetic literature.
