Recently I read a book based in Germany during World War 2, and it was called “The Boy in Striped pajamas”. The book was through the eyes of a little boy named Bruno. The story was relevant to history because it shows what life was like for concentration camps during World War 2. The story also shows what it was like being the son of a Nazi Officer. The story is influenced by Bruno because he is the main character. The story confronts the problems and life of Bruno and his struggles. The book has great points and an interesting perspective, and so overall a great book. The books main characters were Bruno, the mother, The father, Gretel the sister, Shmuel. Another reason I would recommend this book is because it is a good read and helps you understand the war more. I enjoyed the book because it has a perspective I usually don't get to read through. Another reason I enjoyed the book was because bruno had several conflicts throughout the book. An example of a conflict is,” 'Am I being sent away?' 'No, not just you,' she said, looking as if she might smile for a moment but thinking better of it. 'We all are. You father and I, Gretel and you. All four of us.'” This example is during the beginning of the book and is when Bruno comes home to find his maid packing his stuff and he confronts his mom about it. This conflict is substantial to the book because this is the turning point and after he moves he meets Shmuel. Another example of a conflict is,” 'I have something to tell you too.' 'You do?' asked Shmuel, looking up hopefully. 'Yes. I'm going back to Berlin.' Shmuel's mouth dropped in surprise.” This is another big conflict because this is the point in the book where Bruno makes the decision that would overall end his life.
