In this article there are many people who believe that the rodents and possums need to be exterminated because they are ruining all of the balance in New Zealand. A man who goes by the name of James Russell, an ecologist, believes that rats are New Zealand’s biggest problem. While I would say the biggest problem would be the cats because they are a larger predator and are causing the most damage since they are more of an instinctive predator then the rodent. Therefore, many people often forget the importance of inner beauty and the Boy in the story seems to help the Rabbit understand its’ significance.
