Corruption “I shall destroy your happiness if it's the last thing I do” -Evil Queen. In the popular tv show “Once Upon a Time” there is a evil queen whose action are very Medieval. What do I mean by medieval you ask? Well, the definition of medieval according to the Oxford English Dictionary is of or relating to a period of time. There are many different types of connotations of the word medieval but, to me it means corruption. The word medieval to me means corruption, because for example the Evil Queen from “Once Upon a Time” is lying to everyone about her taking away all of the peoples memories just to put herself in higher power. This quote displays how corrupt the pardoner is. He is taking money from people and not doing his actual job in helping them redeem themselves of their sins. Also the Pardoner is lying to the community about his preachings and giving them false allegations for their money. The word medieval connotes to the word corruption in this quote by saying how the Pardoner doesn’t really care about anything but himself and will do whatever to get money from the people.
The word medieval has different connotation by the way you use it. But the way I connotate it is corruption. The Evil Queen was described as a medieval ruler because she lied to her people. People consider the government medieval , because of the large amount of taxes being taken. And lastly in the Canterbury Tales “The Pardoner’s Tale” was corrupted by telling people lies and taking money from them.
