Former New England Patriots football player Aaron Hernandez was charged with first-degree murder of friend Odin Lloyd in June 2013. He was convicted of this crime in 2015. Aaron Hernandez the tight end has been accused of three shootings that left three men dead and two others wounded. This research will explore the various charges from a psychological perspective including the analyzation of testimony heard by the jurors from dozens of people for numerous hours. Details, facts and evidence provided to the jurors played a major role in the juror’s final verdict. On June 22, 2013 police search Hernandez’s home again for the second time. They also learned of a condo that Hernandez was renting that his fiance knew nothing about. It was searched as well. Guns and ammunition was found at the condo. Detectives confiscated two cell phones, .22 caliber ammunition, a scale with a dish (for drug purpose), three iPads, a digital video recorder, a computer hard drive that was part of the home’s security system, and a gunshot residue kit. Detectives found the clothing that the men wore the night of the murder as well as the shoes which matched the shoe prints at the crime scene. They were able to extract digital images from the 14 security cameras mounted inside and outside Hernandez home. Even though Hernandez destroyed his cell phone and surveillance, investigators were able to obtain his cell phone records and video from the backup drive. The jurors were able to see text messages sent to and from Hernandez which included a text message from Hernandez to his fiance asking her to get rid of certain items in the home. The jurors were able to hear from people such as the housekeeper, nanny, associates, etc. The most revealing evidence in my eyesight was the text from the victim Olin Lloyd to his sister. The night Olin was killed his sister was sitting on the porch with her boyfriend when Hernandez and his two associates picked him up. Olin texted his sister and asked her did she see who he left with? The sister didn’t respond fast enough so Olin then texted his sister again (one minute later) with a text that just said “NFL”. When the sister testified she was asked by the defense “If it was possible that Olin was talking about someone else in the NFL”? Her response was “no he only knows Hernandez who plays in the NFL and that they had ties considering he was engaged to Olin’s girlfriend’s sister”. Evidence from the rental also played an important part. When Hernandez returned the rental the day after the murder, the side mirror was missing and dirt (the same dirt from the industrial site where Lloyd was found) was inside the car. The
