It also says, “We had passed through walls of piled bones, with casks and puncheons intermingling, into the inmost recesses of catacombs. I paused again, and this time I made bold to seize Fortunato by an arm above the elbow” (52). Once again, Montresor is trying to be nice and welcoming in the scary setting to trick Fortunado into trusting him until he can make his move. With the combination of Montresor’s fake friendliness and the suspicious surrounding, the reader could infer Montresor’s intensions in the catacombs.
“Cask of Amontillado” Analytical Paragraph In the short story “Cask of Amontillado” by Edgar Allen Poe, the author reveals that revenge will not solve anything even though when you really wanted to kill someone for their loved ones deaths. In this story, Montresor wanted to kill a man named Fortunato who didn’t care for Montresor’s family’s deaths. So in return, Montresor tries to murder him by tricking him with wine. Because Montresor really loved his family, he wanted to honor their deaths to make sure they rested in peace and everyone honors them too.
The Cask of Amontillado is a short story about a guy named Montresor, Montresor is seeking revenge on a Guy named Fortunato. Fortunato insulted Montresor in a way that Montresor did not like so he then vowed revenge. Montresor watched Fortunato get drunk and carnival in the town, so that Montresor could get revenge on Fortunato. When it was time for Montresor to get his revenge on Fortunato, Montresor told Fortunato that he had some really good family wine in the catacombs. Fortunato wanted to go to the wine so that he could show off his skills of wine.
The story "The Cast of Amontillado" written by Edgar Allen Poe is about two friends named Montessor and Fortunato. One of the friends throw a party to lure the other friend in to a bad situation because they were seeking revenge.
