The Catch

I like this poem because I could picture it really well. I watch football with my family and my brother plays football so this I can picture seeing. Like I said, the poem has really good imagery to express how the football player caught the ball and made a touchdown. I also like the similes in this poem, like "We switched places like it was a sideways game of leapfrog". The similes in the poem add more figurative language which makes the poem interesting.

I Will Love Death

I enjoy this poem by Sri Chinmoy because it is very relieving. It made me realize if death and heaven are created by God, then they can not be bad. I've been scared of death for a really long time. I'm scared for the people around me because they'll die someday and I'm scared for my own death. This poem made me realize that maybe death isn't so bad? Sure you will miss your loved ones and yourself, but aren't they going to a better place? You get to go to heaven and be God for eternal life and that just makes me feel so much better. It is very inspiring. This rose grew from the ground (or concrete) with not much water and unwanted soil. It went against planting laws and grew. It blossomed and became beautiful all on its own.
