The Hitchhiker is a radio play that has partnered up with The Twilight Zone and made into a T.V. show. They both stand with a lot of similarities, but they also have a few differences. They had many similarities. Some similarities include where they were going.
One aspect of the stories that differed would be the plot structure. In The Leap, the story is broken up into three smaller stories. Anna takes three main risks in her life and the story illustrates positive and negative consequences for taking each of these chances. This structure is most effective because it allows the theme to be viewed in multiple scenarios and perspectives. In Twins the author limits the plot to only one situation.
The poem “Making Sarah Cry” and the play “The Watsons go to Birmingham” have the similar theme of being different. In “Making Sarah Cry” Sarah is different from the other kids on the playground. In “The Watsons go to Birmingham” the Watson family have a different skin color so they are separated from whites to do everyday tasks. The texts, both share a similar theme but have different qualities. For example, in “Making Sarah Cry” only two people are excluded from playing with kids because of their differences.

In the “ Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County “ written by Mark Twain, old Simon Wheeler tells the narrator the amusing story of Jim Smiley and his gambling frog. A day when a stranger fed his frogs buckshot and made Jim lose a bet. The tone seems to shift throughout the story to create the different emotional changes, such as eagerness and furious. Initially the tone of the text reveals that Smiley seems to be quite eager, since he is ready to win this between Dan’l, for example the text states , “ I ain't got no frog
I read the story Hangovers by Jennifer Pashley. This was not my first option as I first tried to read The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County by Mark Twain but I gave up after reading the third paragraph. As my second option, I chose the Hangovers based solely on its intriguing title. To be honest, It´s difficult to me to say what the story is about. I would say the author describes some hangovers she had in her youth, then in a metaphor; she compares those hangovers with all the struggles that we have to face in life.
So I think they wanted to make it into or closer to our time period. So they made a play version of Much Ado About Nothing. This time in the play version they put all the lines in so you would be able to see what the whole story is like, but it’s not a drastic difference to the movie version from the play
All in all, Woodson is trying to teach the reader that as we grow and change, so do our perspectives. In the beginning, Woodson felt warm, cozy feelings about her town but because of segregation this changed. In the end, Woodson realizes that she changed as well as her perspective. This story shows us that a person’s view and a person changes as they get
Characters and Conflict Both stories share characters and conflicts that are alike in many ways and different in few. For instance, in “The Cask of Amontillado,” there is a man by the name of Montresor, whose pride has been injured. In “Hop-Frog,” there too is
The play and the movie are both different, but similar, in ways like characters, settings, and plots. The Christmas Carol movie from 1984, is a great example. The director of the movie is Clive Donner. The main character is Ebenezer Scrooge. He is an old man who is very sour and greedy.
They both stemmed from common people attempting to gain power and good standing within the community. They also both exemplified the outrageously corrupt government of the time periods. The play goes to show that “those who don 't know history are doomed to repeat it” (Edmund Burke). Both governments believed the common citizens about any accusations they had. The courts also believed in the guilty until proven innocent mindset.
Jackson plans on taking the audience's’ assumptions to her advantage toward the end of the story, which lures viewers to continue reading her story. Also, another hint in the beginning of the short story indicates the boys in the town filling their pockets with stones. Jackson also signifies the importance to these stones when she informs the readers the boys are protecting a pile of rocks. At first, readers would not notice the significance of these stones, but these stones will return into the reader’s thoughts when the climax arises. Jackson also adds the fact the girls are not participating in the boys’ activity, which could draw lines between men and women in the village.
For the Unit 5 discussion forum I chose the short and humorous story “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County” by Mark Twain (1867). I picked this tale because of the author that I had already known during my studies many years ago. The short tale was included in the book having the same title published by George Routledge and Sons, London, in 1867; this book is a collection of humorous tales and it is considered as a masterpiece of Mark Twain’s literary production.
How can someone be so clueless about what people are telling him and the truth? Then there is putnam who has a history of accusing people of things like witchcraft so that he can buy their land. Throughout the whole play he has been against everyone and is just trying to gain
The ghost of King Hamlet plays an enormous role in Hamlet even though he is hardly in the play
