However, most characters are very courageous and demonstrate these acts throughout the whole play. Overall the theme of the The Crucible boils down to being about honesty, weakness, and courage.
Everyone wants to fit in either in school or at work and in the short essay “White Lies”, Erin Murphy discusses how a little girl is being bullied at school and what she does to prevent it. In the fourth paragraph it states, “ All of this changed in mid-October when Connie’s father got a job at a candy factory, news Connie announced tentatively one rainy day during indoor recess” (Paragraph four). Because Connie was an albino she was viewed differently in everyone’s eyes. She decided to announce to everyone that her father worked in a candy factory, therefore everyone would like her. When the news came out everyone started to like Connie because she bought everyone free candy.

John Proctor, a man during the time of the 1692 Salem witch trials, exhibits noble traits during the play. In the play, Proctor strongly believes in honesty, and attempts to find justice no matter the circumstances. Proctor is not a man who will put himself before others.
The Lie- Thematic Essay In most of our lives we have encountered someone who believes that they’re entitled to everything because of their reputation or wealth. There’s times when kids are snobby to others because they have better clothes, a bigger house, more money, or even because they’re ‘popular’ and the other kid isn’t. In the story The Lie by Kurt Vonnegut Jr, there’s multiple times when Eli’s parents believe that because they are Remezel’s, Eli deserves different things than what the other students would receive at the Whitehill Academy for Boys. This story proves to us that you shouldn't act like you are entitled everything and you won't always get your way because of wealth and reputation because when you do you start to take everything
Honesty is something we all want. Honesty describes person’s nature and builds more trust. Abigail gets affected by the witch craft and they try to find who is behind all of this. Honesty is a key to describe your nature. The crucible has a really unique story.
The significance of lying only leads to more problems is conflicted in The Crucible by Arthur Miller. In a series of events the effects of lying are displayed with their own individual consequences and one problem leading to another and another and eventually to an tragic end. From the beginning of the play, The Crucible, the reader was introduced to the young girl Abigail who initially started the trails of lies that caused the downfall of Salem and its justice.
In the beginning, the two have a strong hatred towards one another, but as the series of events unfold, the two come to see the stupidity in the feud that has lasted for so long. They make the verdict to change because they realize that they should’ve been friends all along. Once they have agreed to become associates, they work together to try to get out of the forest by calling their men loudly. In desperate times, the two old enemies found their good side and were able to help one another out in the best way
Lying is the most committed sin. Everyday people lie whether small or big. Every human knows that lying should not be exercised, but sometimes, in certain situations, lying is necessary due to the consequences of telling the truth. In the Bible, James 3:8, quoted is “But no human being can tame the tongue, it is a relentless evil, full of deadly poison.”
The play The Big Lie from Ten/Two is about a teacher and a student who have an interesting and unexpected interaction. The teacher is surprised and angry to find that one of her student was trying to sneak into her class but the plot twist was that the student was not sneaking in because he was late in actuality he was early. This turn of events gives the play a comedic and over dramatic tone. I wanted to use this unexpected twist to create a play that was really dramatic in order to give the audience something to laugh at. I wanted to use certain parts of the play to let the actors be as over the top as they can be in order to create the comedic drama that I wanted.
The American Dream, the big goal in life, something people yearn for; a perfect house, family, and life, well, it 's a lie, no person can have this because there will always be a problem, whether it be bills or a family member dying, something is always wrong. The book Of Mice and Men really proves this, the character Lennie, he has a mental handicap and has to be taken care of, the author makes sure that he could never have this dream. Lennie and George, the man who has grown up with Lennie and takes care of him, have dreamt of owning a farm and having rabbits amongst other wildlife. Because George has to take care of Lennie he cannot have this dream, people with responsibilities
The Crucible by Arthur Miller has many lessons to learn from. One of The major lesson I thought that is important is honesty. The accusations throughout the story were built on lies from those trying to protect their own name, and putting the town into confusion. Nobody in Salem, Massachusetts felt like they could trust anymore, after all of the false allegations made. If Three characters in the story would have been honest from the beginning, the town would not have been in such confusion.
The Trail of Lies The play, The Crucible, written by Arthur Miller is a unique piece of work. Many themes are embedded in the work. One significant theme that is prevalent throughout the play is lies and deceit. Miller applies the theme of lies and deceit all throughout the play because practically all the characters are lying either to themselves or other individuals which plays a hefty role in the plot.
