“The strongest people aren't always the people who win, but who don't give up when they lose” (Recovery Experts.com). This quote changed people's perspective of the characters in the short story The Most Dangerous Game. For example, Rainsford had very little resources and Zaroff had a lot like a gun, plenty of food, nice clothing, dogs, and a butler while rainsford had little food supply, the outdoors to rely on, and a knife. So Rainsford was not the strongest bt he did not give up and he won. One important lesson the readers learn from Richard Connell’s “The Most Dangerous Game” is don't think you will win just because you are stronger.

The third trape was when he tied a vine to a tree and put a knife at the end of it and he drew it back and let it go it struck and killed ivan instantly. The author used mood/tone because the readers were expecting the dog or Zaroff to be hit with the knife instead of Ivan we still wanted Zaroff to die after he killed all of those innocent sailors. When Rainsford jumped into the water Zaroff thought he had died or swam to safety but, rainsford went back to Zaroff's house. Rainsford beat Zaroff back to his house and they fought until the last man was standing and the last one standing was rainsford. The author used tone to make the readers ask questions and to bring the readers closer to the story by making it sound like Rainsford died when he jumped off the cliff. In the story it says “I congratulate you,” Zaroff said “You won the game”(Connell 20).
