Caryl Churchill's "Love and Information" is an absorbing play that has interesting takes that speak on many topics concerning power, politics, and culture throughout its many themes. One of the most important themes mentioned is information and power. Throughout the play, Churchill is able to hint at and display the relationship between information and power, resulting in the observation that the holder of information also becomes the holder of power. The child's curiosity allows the friends to become the holders of power as the holders of the information, allowing them to control what comes next, being the alleged haunted house that no one has been able to stay in (Churchill, 3.6.1-11). Once again, it is observed that as the holder of information shifts, the holder of power also shifts. The child now has survived and holds information these friends have only heard stories of. Their curiosity means their need to know this information now sets the child as the superior due to being the holder of the information they need. "What happened", "What did you feel?", "Didn't you run away?", are all questions being shot at the child who lets them know about the dead things, the monsters, and the screams; where Churchill's play now also has the audience in the hold of the child since we are included in the audience of the child, we cannot know if this is indeed what happened, is the child feeding into their curiosity and stories? Or did it really happen? The holder of information not only holds the superiority, but they can also manipulate the information to the unknowing audience due to their power of being the one who holds
