During his life time, King accomplished many goals and tremendously helped African Americans. King was never alone in his activism. More leaders emerged and some stayed to bring awareness in ways of protests and movements. Jo Ann Robison for example was another leader that shaped the movement. She created the Women’s Political Caucus, which is an organization that makes sure women are more involved in political process. African Americans were tired of the violence, disrespect and harassments. People of color has had always an issue with getting the same rights as everybody else. But, after years of neglect African Americans stood up and created a protest that changed the way they live. Civil Rights movement is the general overview of plenty protest and movements that happened in years about the same key issue on racism. It happened over a series of events and issues that could not be taken anymore and something had to be done. Protest in the movement was violent at times but you had other protest were it was peaceful and violent free. There were pictures being captured during these times capturing how it really was. A picture taken you can see the women’s face expression expresses her feelings during her arrest (CBSN, reference to graphic-1). This women is not excited to be in the situation she is in, especially being arrested by somebody of different color in 1960. Protest can break out in violence at any time, or can cause a more serious issue with the police. The cops have arrested her for protesting about her own civil rights and how they are not equal. How protest went down in the end was either an arrest or somebody was seriously injured. Many folks didn’t want African Americans to speak out and protest just like the young lady in the picture. On the other hand, protest turned out very successful with no violence or harassment involved. Also in another picture, Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks came together and had a peaceful protest (CBSN, graphic 2). King wanted his protest to portray how African Americans act and show not the monsters as described to be from people with the opposite skin-color.
